Squarespace templates look great in the demo because they are filled with a designer's placeholder content. The hard part, the part that actually sells, is writing your own words, choosing what goes where, and making it feel like you rather than the template. That work is still yours on Squarespace. We do all of it, in your voice, and you approve the result.

You are also renting. Your Squarespace site lives on their platform, and their support is handled by ticket and email rather than a person who knows your business. Everything we build, you own outright, and when something needs attention it is us, not a queue.

The biggest gap is being found. Squarespace covers the SEO basics, but it does not build the structure that gets you surfaced in Google's AI Overviews or recommended by ChatGPT and Perplexity. We build that in from the first page, which is increasingly where new clients start.

The honest version

Squarespace is the better choice if you have strong taste, enjoy building your own site, and mainly need a polished place to put content you will write yourself, like a portfolio or a simple brochure. If you want the writing, the strategy, and the search visibility handled, that is us.

Squarespace vs TheGoodSite: common questions

Is TheGoodSite better than Squarespace for SEO?

For most small businesses, yes, because we build technical SEO and AI-search structure into every page and set up your Google Business Profile. Squarespace covers the basics but leaves the rest to you or a plugin.

Do you write the copy, or do I?

We do. Writing your own words is the hardest part of any DIY builder. We interview you once and write every page in your voice. You review and approve it.

Can I keep my Squarespace content?

Yes. We take what works about your existing content and rewrite and rebuild around it, then hand you a site you own and can host anywhere.
