FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask us before they hire us. Straight answers, real prices, no fine print. If yours is not here, just ask.

Pricing and ownership

How much does a website from The Good Site Co cost?

A full website is $7,500 flat, fixed before we start. That price includes strategy, copywriting, design, build, and launch. There are no setup fees, no change orders, and no surprise invoices. Larger multi-location or custom builds are quoted as one flat number before any work begins. Ongoing care is optional and runs $250 to $500 per month, with your first month free.

Do I own the website?

Yes, completely. The code is yours, the domain is yours, and the content is yours. We do not lock you into a platform or a monthly subscription. You can move it, hand it to another developer, or leave it exactly as is. It belongs to you.

Is there a monthly fee to keep my site running?

There is no mandatory platform fee. Because you own the code and it is hosted on modern infrastructure that is typically free, nothing is holding your site hostage. Optional care plans start at $250 per month if you want us to handle updates, monitoring, and a monthly performance briefing, but the site runs fine without them.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We ask for a 25 percent deposit to start. The remaining 75 percent is due only when you approve the finished site. You never pay the balance for work you have not signed off on.

How the build works

How long does it take to build my website?

About 30 days from kickoff to launch, and most of that time is our hands on the work, not your inbox filling with tasks. We start with a strategy session, write and design everything, then hand it to you for review.

Who actually builds my site?

The two of us. Brant and Michael personally handle every project from start to finish. There are no account managers, no handoffs, and no junior team you never met. When you email, you reach the people building your site.

I do not have any content or photos. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Copywriting is included, so we interview you and write every word. For images, we use professional stock that fits your brand, or we can advise on a simple local photoshoot if you want something more personal.

What if I do not like what you build?

Every full site includes two rounds of revisions. After the first draft you tell us everything you would change, from copy to layout to colors to tone, and we fix it. After the second round most clients are done. We do not deliver and disappear.

How do I know you will understand my business?

Every project starts with a strategy session for exactly this reason. We do not design anything until we understand who your customers are, what they need to see, and what makes you different. Most clients tell us that call alone was worth it.

What platform do you build on?

We build on Next.js, modern code that you own outright. Unlike Wix, Squarespace, or Webflow, there is no platform subscription holding your site hostage. It loads faster, ranks better on Google, and costs nothing to maintain beyond hosting, which is typically free.

Getting found on Google and AI

Will my website show up on Google?

Yes, that is built in. Every site ships with the technical SEO, structured data, and fast performance that search engines reward. We also set up your Google Business Profile so you appear when someone nearby searches for what you do.

Will my business show up in AI answers like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?

Yes. Every site is AI-ready by construction. We add the structured data and clean, readable content that AI assistants and AI Overviews pull from, so when your next client asks an AI who to hire, your business can be the answer.

Can you fix a site that is not ranking or getting found?

Yes. If your current site is invisible on Google or missing from AI answers, that is usually a fixable mix of missing structure, slow performance, and thin content. We rebuild it so you are found, and we will tell you honestly what is wrong before you spend a dollar.

Is this right for me

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

Established, service-based small businesses whose reputation has outgrown their website: dentists and healthcare, coaches and consultants, law firms, financial advisors, real estate, med spas, wellness studios, trades, and local services. If people find you through referrals and your website is what they check before they call, you are who we build for.

Is this right for me if I am not technical?

Especially then. You never touch code, log into a confusing dashboard, or manage a project. You answer a few questions, review the draft, and we handle the rest.

I already have a website. Do you do redesigns?

Yes. Most of our clients already have a site that no longer reflects how good their business is. We rebuild it from strategy up, keep what is working, and give you something that finally matches your reputation.

What makes you different from an agency or a freelancer?

One flat price fixed before we start, the two owners doing the actual work, a 30-day delivery, and you owning everything at the end. No retainers that never end, no rotating account managers, and no template dressed up as custom.

After launch and AI help

What if I need changes after launch?

Care plans start at $250 per month and cover hosting, monitoring, and updates. The $500 per month plan adds content updates, trend intelligence, and a monthly check-in with the people who built your site. You will never have to log into a dashboard to get help.

Can you help with online booking or e-commerce?

Online booking is built in. We set up a scheduler on your own domain so clients can book you directly. For selling physical products at scale we will point you to Shopify, but simple payments and bookings we handle during the build.

Do you also help with AI and automation, not just websites?

Yes, through our sister practice, TheAIShop. If the bigger problem is operations, like follow-ups slipping or reviews never getting asked for or admin eating your week, we build AI agent teams that run on infrastructure you own. Many clients start with the website and grow into the automation. It is your call, and we will tell you what makes sense.
